  Ken McGregor of Strathroy, who is secretary of the Ontario Maple Syrup Association, says its members haven't gotten riled up about the tree-cutting bylaw.

  Since the inception of the seal , approximately 130 maple producers have followed the criteria for excellence , which is all encompassing , from the tree to the consumer ready product , said Ken McGregor , Secretary/Treasurer of the OMSPA.
  
  The programme , which has been patterned after the Environmental Farm Programme , is stringent , but user friendly.

  The program goes back into the bush , looks at stewardship , the management plan , as well as , the technology and techniques used from the collection of the sap right up to the finished product , said McGregor.
  
  With today's consumers demanding quality food items , the producers are grabbing onto this programme to show their commitment and we expect other commodities to come on board as well , added McGregor.
