Keith McGregor

Banyan Tree was founded by Keith McGregor, a photographer by trade who opened his first store at Conduit Road, in Hong Kong in 1975.In a typical entrepreneurial spirit that exemplifies Hong Kong, the initial site was used both as a photography studio and a furniture showcase for Thai furniture and accessories, mixing the two passions of McGregor's at the time.In fact, it was only after a photographic assignment to India did he introduce an Indian element to the Banyan Tree store.Inspired by the country's rich history and superb craftsmanship, McGregor introduced his new Indian collection to Banyan Tree's growing furniture business.
