  Matt McGrath is a writer and photographer based in Los Angeles, California and Grand Junction, Colorado. He has spent uncountable hours exploring and documenting, through word and image, the wild lands of the American West.
  
  Matt is currently completing the requirements for a Master's Degree in Recreation Management. His thesis, Adaptive Management in the Bureau of Land Management, analyzes the relatively new management technique of adaptive management and its implementation on various BLM units across the Western United States.
  
  In addition to his academic work, Matt is working on several documentary projects including a photographic collection of rural United States Post Offices. He is also researching historic guard stations in Western US National Forests.
