Low, 52, ran unopposed and was elected to the city council in 2001, replacing Frank McClatchey when he ran unsuccessfully for city clerk.She is a special education teacher for the Special Education District of Lake County and works at Round Lake High School.

Low said the city is headed in the right direction and wants to make sure work on downtown revitalization, the YMCA and wastewater treatment plant expansion is completed.

"There's so many important projects on the table that I am very passionate about," Low said.
