    Elisabeth McCaffrey joined IHS in February 2007.As the Educational Programs Coordinator, she works on the Advanced Topics in Liberty conferences, LibertyGuide.com, and IHS summer seminars.

    Elisabeth owes her interest in liberty and independence to her first job - working alongside her family at the Avenue Victor Hugo Bookshop in Boston.

    In 2004 she earned her B.A. from Bowdoin College, where she studied Political Theory, English, and Italian.In addition to advancing the cause of liberty, her interests include hiking, bicycling, and reading dusty old tomes.

    Liz is the Film & Fiction Programs Director at IHS. In this role, she manages the Production Internship and Film & Fiction Scholarship programs, directs the Cinematic & Literary Traditions of Liberty summer seminar, and establishes connections with organizations and professionals who can provide mentoring or career opportunities for students. Liz has previously been the director of outreach for IHS, as well as the coordinator for IHS's Advanced Topics in Liberty program, a series of weekend conferences co-sponsored by Liberty Fund. Liz received her BA from Bowdoin College, where she studied Political Theory, English, and Italian. As a girl who grew up in a bookshop, she hopes to one day publish a book of her own.
