7:00 PM ANDREW MCBRIDE re museum update, discuss expansion plans,
McBride circulated copies of the expansion plan into the ground floor of the rear apartment, the Chamber is funded by rentals from the two existing apartments (one two-storey at the rear and one upstairs at the front), realizes this is a sensitive issue but there is no other way to expand and make it wheel-chair accessible.Asking for a capital grant of $3,200 from the Municipality for materials only, with a matching contribution from the Chamber which was raised by a Grand Ole Opry event.

McBride advised they would get more rent from the rear apartment after it is reduced in size.
McBride said they are now working with the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre for display of artefacts. He would like the Chief Building Official to look at the apartment before they prepare a floor plan and final renovation plans.
Oswald asked the tenant if he would like to say anything; Brian Mullen added that the Chamber and the Museum people have been good to work with, has been a tenant there for 23 years, the museum may gain about 400 square feet, made no complaints, glad to have received advanced notice, his proposition is to take a separate entrance and keep access to the back yard, it was crushing news for them, would hate to receive an eviction notice and then not have the project go ahead.
Oswald suggested McBride contact the Rent Review Board before proceeding any further.
