    Andrew McBride BSc Hons (Ecol) AgForREc MIEEM

    Before attending Edinburgh University (1992-96), Andrew worked as a commercial grower, producing a range of salad crops for wholesale markets and supermarket chains.Wary of the increasing power and influence the supermarkets were having on horticultural production in the 1980's, he decided to sell-up to pursue a different career direction.

    As a prelude to full-time study Andrew widened his employment experience.He worked as a seasonal reserve warden with Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), a tree planter for local contractors and as a garden advisor in the restoration of a privately owned walled garden.Employment with SNH continued after University when he took up the position of Area Officer for Roxburgh & Berwickshire in the Scottish Borders.

    In 1997, with the active and experienced support of his wife Ellen, Andrew formed 'McBride Habitats' an environmental consultancy whose range of services links professional advice with practical assistance.Two years on Andrew heads a team of three graduates from Scottish Universities whose diverse skills and qualifications encompass ecology, forestry, industrial design, and horticulture.
