OTTAWA -- Dorothy M. "Dottie" Mattson, 83, San Diego, and formerly of Ottawa, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at a San Diego care center.
Mrs. Mattson had served as head librarian for the Topeka Library.
She was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Ottawa, the daughter of Dr. A.G. and Elsie Ricks Madtson. She grew up and attended school there. She received a degree in library science at Emporia State Teachers College. She lived most of her life in Omaha, Neb. She recently moved to La Jolla, Calif.

She married Roy Mattson. He preceded her in death.
