   Don Mattson, a medical doctor, Kiwanian, and longtime supporter of the Worldwide Service Project, has written an anecdotal tale that illustrates how the campaign to virtually eliminate iodine deficiency disorders can affect one individual, the world, and "future memories." Don is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Willmar, Minnesota.
   
   Reporters and friends of the family gather with keen anticipation in front of his home. He is, after all, Ghana's favorite son and most famous citizen. In this year of 2067, he has just retired after fifteen years as director general of the United Nations. What a day! What pride and deep respect they all hold for this man.
   
   He arrives by taxi, stepping out to a volley of questions, greetings, and hugs. After a brief speech and a reception of drinks and cakes, he sits down with close, longtime friends.
   
   "Well," someone says, "you've been a college professor, finance minister and prime minister of Ghana, and head of the UN. That's quite a career. To what do you attribute your success?"
   
   "Ah, ha, that's easy," he responds, "It was iodine."
