   Derek Mattson is a managing director in the communications and digital media technology group at Montgomery & Co.
   
   Prior to joining Montgomery & Co. in 2008, Mr. Mattson served as managing director with Friedman Billings Ramsey where he led the mergers & acquisitions team in its technology, media & telecommunications group. Prior to joining FBR, Mr. Mattson was a vice president in SG Cowen's technology mergers & acquisitions group where he gained extensive transaction experience and client relationships across a range of technology sectors. Mr. Mattson was also previously an associate director of corporate development for Allianz AG in Munich Germany.
   
   Mr. Mattson has a BS in finance from the University of Delaware and holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

   Prior to joining FBR, Mr. Mattson was an M&A specialist in SG Cowen's technology group where he provided a broad array of advisory services for clients across all sectors within SG Cowen's technology practice. Prior to his investment banking career, Mr. Mattson served as an associate director for strategy development for Allianz AG in Munich Germany.
