   Laurie Mattingly, Director of BCUMC School
   
   Laurie graduated from Texas Christian University and taught kindergarten in her "life before children".Laurie and Wade have been married for over thirty years and enjoy spending time with their three daughters, two sons-in-law and five grandchildren.Over the years Laurie has taught and directed in preschool and Mother's Day Out programs.In addition to being an active volunteer in her church and her daughters' schools, Laurie served many years as the founding Director of Children's Ministries at a local church in Houston.Serving as director of the Bear Creek UMC School has brought her full circle back into the world of early childhood education and it brings her great joy to partner in ministry with the life of Bear Creek United Methodist Church.

   A charter member of Christ Presbyterian, Laurie Mattingly has served as the Director of Children's Ministries here since our first Sunday together.She has a degree in Child Development from Texas Christian University.
   
   She previously taught kindergarten at Dodson Elementary School, preschool at The Yellow School, mother's day out at Memorial Drive Presbyterian, where she also served as assistant to the Mother's Day Out director and then directed the Mother's Day Out at First Presbyterian Church.She has led workshops for the T.E.A.C.H. conference in Houston, and continues her education at various local and national conferences.
   
   Prior church experience includes teaching Sunday School, serving as the coordinator for the Mo Ranch children's program, the lay coordinator for children's ministries at First Presbyterian and directing their VBS program for 5 years.
   
   Laurie and her husband Wade have been dating since their junior year at Memorial High School.They have three daughters - Kara, Ellen and Anna.Kara is married to Matt and they have one son, Miller and triplet daughters, Ashley, Kiley and Campbell.Ellen is at Texas A&M and Anna is at Stratford High School.
   
   Laurie is most excited about the relational aspect of Children's Ministries, where adults and children relate to each other, and the children as they foster the most important relationship one can have, with Jesus Christ.
