   Wayne & Gwyn Matthews - Director of Public Ministries Wayne & Gwyn were both born and raised in beautiful New Brunswick. They met at University of New Brunswick where Gwyn received a BA in History as well her Teaching License and Wayne received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. They were married on Jan. 1, 1972
   
   Wayne has worked in the fields of steel making, heavy water plants, phosphorus manufacturing and engineering. He has supervised production and maintenance departments, engineering design groups and has just completed 5 years as a Quality Engineer.
   
   Gwyn was a full time Mom while the children were young and then began as a secretary at their home church at Bramalea Baptist in Brampton. After 3 years she joined OMF as Assistant to the Candidate Coordinator and has been serving in that role for 3 years.
   
   They have been very busy in ministry throughout their life. Gwyn has very involved in Children's ministry, especially Pioneer Girls. Wayne has served for 12 years as Chair of the World Mission Team at Bramalea Baptist, has been part of the management team of MissionFest Toronto since inception and is on the greater Toronto Perspectives Study Program planning team. He has also served on the World Mission Advisory Council of FEB Int'l for 2 years.
   
   They have always had a strong interest in World Missions and their connection with OMF goes back to the early 1980s. They also had the privilege of being part of a Vision Trip with OMF to East Asia in 1997. This really crystallized their passion for World Mission and OMF's ministry.
   
   Wayne is Director of Public Ministries for OMF Canada and oversees many of the administrative functions of the Canadian office including the processing, training an development of new workers, coordination of the promotional processes and conferences. Gwyn will continue the coordination of the process to prepare and arrange for candidates to be effectively placed in the field.
