Rev. and Mrs. Griffith Matthews were welcomed at Swainsboro Presbyterian Church Sunday, Dec. 7 at regular morning worship.
Rev. Matthews is a native of Pittsburgh, Penn., and earned a bachelor of science degree and masters in educational administration from University of Pittsburgh. He earned a bachelor of divinity at Princeton Seminary in 1960 and was ordained by the Presbytery of Wyoming to serve as a national missionary to two small churches in Goshen County. Later, he was pastor of Presbyterian Churches in Maine. He has also worked for over 20 years as a manager of alcoholism treatment programs in Cumberland and York counties in Maine.
