Dr Matthews, who founded the Bath Spine Centre three years ago, said: "We believe that happy people are productive people."

The chiropractor said his approach was informal and friendly.

"We don't wear suits or carry clipboards, and clients are not obliged to undertake a lengthy and costly programme of services," he said.

"We work closely with clients to identify their needs and tailor a programme suited to them.

"This could range from a one-off workshop on stress and fatigue for a particular department, to an extensive programme of activities for everyone."

Dr Matthews, who outside of work is an international triathlete and founding member of Bath Triathlon Club, said his chiropractic skills would be put to good effect as part of the firm's services.

"We are ideally placed to help companies address the top two groups of work-related illnesses - musculo- skeletal disorders and stress-related conditions," he said.
