   Christine B. Matthews (nee Bath), 84, of Chagrin Falls, died May 16 at her home of natural causes.
   
   Born March 22, 1918, in East Cleveland, she received a B.S. in education from Ohio State University in 1941.
   
   Mrs. Matthews was a retired elementary school teacher having taught in Solon, West Geauga and Toledo school systems.
   
   She was a member of Eastern Star, Delta Delta Delta Sorority of Ohio State University and East Cleveland Alumni Association, the Federated Church of Chagrin Falls, Mayfield Schools Alumni Association and Mary Martha Group.
   
   Active in many groups at Solon schools, she was a preschool Sunday school teacher at the Federated Church in Chagrin Falls.
   
   Her hobbies were bridge and crossword puzzles.
   
   Mrs. Matthews is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Paul) McClain, of Gramby, Conn., Virginia A. (Anthony) Fuger, of Chester, and Wendy (Kevin) Brown, of Delaware, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Stewart Matthews, of Chagrin Falls, and Melburn Johnson, of Chardon; grandchildren, Scott and Kyle McClain, Todd and Elizabeth Fuger, and Allison, Heidi and Matthew Brown; and 10 nieces and nephews.
