Jeffrey Marx completed his Ph.D. in ceramic engineering at the University of Missouri Rolla in 1995. Dr. Marx led a biomaterials program focused on ceramic based bone substitutes for Phillips Plastics corp in Wisconsin leading to multiple patents and one commercial product. Dr.

Marx joined Orthovita in August 1999 as director of product development to lead the commercialization of the Vitoss® scaffold. He has held various roles during his tenure at Orthovita including marketing, sales management, and medical education. Currently, as vice president of corporate development, he is responsible for strategy and business development.

Dr. Marx was promoted to Vice President of Technical Education in May of 2003 after serving as Senior Director of Technical Education and Director of Technical Education since March of 2001.Currently, Dr. Marx is responsible for training and coaching field representation, surgeons, and hospital staff as well as educational and marketing collateral and programs.Prior to leading the technical education efforts, Dr. Marx was Director of Product development.In this role he was responsible for leading the VITOSS commercialization team.Prior to joining Orthovita, Dr. Marx helped initiate and lead a startup orthopaedic biomaterials company in Wisconsin for four years.Jeffrey G. Marx completed his Ph.D. in Ceramic Engineering at the University of Missouri Rolla and his B.S. in Ceramic Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University.
