"We have many dads who work in the evenings, so we are able to get them to volunteer during the school day," said Cynthia Martinez, Parent-Community Resource Specialist for Hamilton."We also have dads who help out during after-school activities."

Currently, Hamilton has 11 Royal Dads, made up of fathers, grandfathers and an older brother.Martinez has plans to invite more fathers to become part of the program.

"I really believe that if we have some strong community leaders and they advocate hard enough, hopefully our voices can still be heard," said Cynthia Martinez, with the Wichita Hispanic Women's Network, which offers scholarship and educational seminars to Hispanics.
