My guest was Susan Marque, a food and a life coach, chef, writer, speaker and teacher.
She's an expert on food and how to integrate healthy, nourishing eating into your way of life.
Susan has written four Fast and Easy cookbooks and has taught professional chefs, celebrities (like Melissa Gilbert and Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), schoolteachers, real estate moguls and a ton of private clients to eat well and lose weight while doing it.
...
Susan is frequently interviewed by and contributes to popular magazines, such as Shape, Woman's World and Self.
Susan explained that diets don't work.
What works is creating patterns that you can sustain for the rest of your life.
Once you learn how food works and you create balance, you find you don't have food cravings.
Healthy eating consists of eating a balance of WHOLE foods -food that are in their whole state: whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits, beans and some meat/fish.
If you want to be vegan make sure you take some B12.
Susan pointed out that each individual has different needs so it's important to get the diet that is right for your body type, constitution and certain conditions.
She pointed out that whole grains are grains that aren't processed.
You can put them in the ground and they're able to grow.
She recommends eating them in moderation.
They have loads of fiber, nutrients and help clean you out and give you lots of energy.
Whole grains are things like brown rice or quinoa which is a complete protein with all of the essential amino acids you need in one food.
Susan proceeded to give us a host of fabulous weight loss tips "The little things that make a big difference ", tell us about foods that we may not know about that are great for weight loss and our health and how to creat fast, easy, yummy meals.
