Ms. Anastasia Maroulis

ANASTASIA MAROULIS Anastasia Maroulis became an elementary school teacher in 1991. She worked as the assistant principal of an elementary school in Rockland County New York while she was the President of the New Jersey Reading Association, see www.njreading.org. She was the principal of Thiells Elementary School in New York. Ms. Maroulis is currently the principal of Hillside School in Allendale, New Jersey. Ms. Maroulis shares wonderful advice on making reading activities fun for children and how nannies should communicate with both teachers and parents.

In the fall, Avis Collier-Shelby, assistant principal of Haverstraw Middle School, will take over as principal for Stan Taylor, and Anastasia Maroulis, assistant principal at Thiells Elementary School, will take the helm for Sylvia Fernandez Pade.

"Districtwide, it's a huge monetary consideration and time consideration," said Thiells Elementary School Principal Anastasia Maroulis.

Thiells Assistant Principal Anastasia Maroulis said the hands-on drill was very valuable to the students and teachers in the school.All 750 students in the building participated in the drill.

"We take safety and security very seriously in this school," Maroulis said.
