Four Bethlehem police officers -- investigators Jim Smith and Mark DiLuzio and officers Dwight Schaffner and Stephen Marks -- stood in line for more than three hours to pay their respects to Bush.

Marks, the only Bethlehem police officer to survive a shooting, described the experience as eye-opening.
"It was a huge turnout, and everywhere you looked, it seemed like thousands of officers were there," said Marks, who was hit in the calf and hip by two bullets during a gunfight with an armed robbery suspect in August 2006.
Some of Bush's old colleagues from the Pottstown Police Department, where he worked from 1984 to 1987, remembered him as a smart and ambitious police officer on the way to bigger and better things.
