Ms. Markowitz has litigation experience on a broad range of issues , including antitrust , environmental and insurance coverage.The primary focus of her practice is complex , multiparty litigation involving the recovery of insurance for major U.S. corporations under their comprehensive general liability policies.In this capacity , Ms. Markowitz has been responsible for all aspects of the litigation , including formulating strategies , supervising discovery and depositions , preparing briefs and motions and conducting negotiations.In addition , Ms. Markowitz represents clients in environmental matters and in multidistrict litigation.Before entering private practice , Ms. Markowitz was a staff attorney in the Bureau of Competition of the Federal Trade Commission , focusing on mergers and acquisitions.

Most recently , Ms. Markowitz was the Deputy Division Chief of the Consumer Protection and Competition Division of the Cable Services Bureau.In this position , she was responsible for supervising and advising on various consumer cable issues , including those involving program access ; must-carry/ADI ; effective competition ; rate appeals ; cross ownership and other matters effecting consumers.In addition to her experience in the Cable Services Bureau , Ms. Markowitz worked in the Auctions Division of the Wireless Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission , where her last position was Acting Legal Advisor to the Division Chief.In her tenure in the Auctions Division , Ms. Markowitz became well acquainted with wireless issues.
