Mr. Markham was appointed Vice President , International on September 13 , 2000.Prior to that time and since October 1999 , he served as Group Chief Executive Officer of Hickson.From October 1995 to October 1999 , he was an Executive Director of the Board of Hickson and Managing Director of Hickson's Organic Chemicals Division.

Commenting on the contract with BOC Gases , Hickson & Welch managing director , John Markham said : ‘We are delighted to be at the forefront of technology with this project.All available technologies were evaluated and the BOC combination of Loprox and Vitox was by far the best.The new plant will enhance significantly the infrastructure , operating efficiency and environmental performance of the Castleford site.'.
