And to exacerbate this unfairness from the Northern hegemony, the Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ahmed Markafi, made these following comments on the 23rd July at the 2005 Civil Service Day Lecture: "Those clamoring for this Resource control should see beyond now and think of tomorrow; they should consider the people at the receiving and of their decision; they should drop the case!"I was also dismayed when I heard the Governor of Adamawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, voicing out his consort in this perfidy.He said the South-South are merely directing their aggressions towards the North!

TO find solution to backwardness of education in the North, the 19 Northern governors must formulate and implement policies that could bridge the gap between the region and other parts of the country, Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Markafi, has said.

The governor spoke on Tuesday while receiving officials of the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Programme who visited him in his office in Kaduna.

Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Markafi had fired the first salvo when he recently said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket should be reserved for the North in 2007.But joining issues with the Kaduna governor, his Ogun State counterpart, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, said the party's presidential ticket has not been zoned and is open to all geopolitical zones in the country, except the South West which produced incumbent President Obasanjo.

Since then, like a wild fire in the harmattan, the embers of the controversy has been smouldering with most of the contributions from important political actors having ethnic colourations.

Earlier, the chairman of the occasion and Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ahmed Markafi, had paid glowing tribute to Azazi who served in his state as GOC before his elevation.

Announcing this during the formal presentation of the request for approval by the Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Markafi, the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola, expressed hope that the university would soon become a leading university in the next couple of years.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Chief (Mrs) Mobolaji Osomo disclosed this in Kaduna, during a courtesy call on Governor Alhaji Ahmed Markafi, while on an assessment tour of the state to verify housing and urban development programmes in the state as well as identifying possible collaboration areas between the state and the federal government in housing and urban development.
