The featured artist will be Rosanne Malek, a Britt native who recently returned from playing in the Wallenstein Palace, a Baroque palace built in the early 1600s in Prague, Czech Republic.
Malek was invited by the Czech National Museum of Women in the Arts.
The concert also included a Czech harpist and a Czech flautist.
At the Britt concert, Malek will play the selections she played in Prague.
They include two pieces from the 19th century, one of them a ragtime written by Adaline Shephard (1883-1950) who once lived in Algona.
Two contemporary pieces will be included in the program.
Malek will also play requests at the close of her concert.
The Britt concert is one of three to be presented by Malek.
The third will be played in the Coralville/Iowa City area in June.
Malek is the consultant for K-12 Arts Education and Gifted and Talented Programming at the Iowa Department of Education in Des Moines.
She began piano lessons with Marjorie Benzler in Britt at the age of seven, and rarely missed a piano lesson until graduating from Britt High School.
She earned a bachelor of music education degree from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., a master of music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md., and an administration degree from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
She is in her second year of doctoral studies in global and international education at the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
Malek is the daughter of Bill Malek of Britt, and the late Sally Malek.
