Malasky recovers following Tuesday's accident

NEWMARKET - Fire Chief Richard Malasky is recovering at home after a car hit him and Department of Public Works employee Hector Hernandez on Tuesday morning on Elm Street near Riverside Cemetery.

Malasky said he has no broken bones.He was told to take it easy the rest of the week.He goes back to the hospital today for an MRI on his knee and one on his shoulder, he said.
Malasky said he got hit from behind and went up and over the hood and windshield of the car.
Malasky,who is also the director of the DPW, said he and two other DPW employees were doing layouts for painting stripes by the railroad crossing at the time.They measured the lines to follow regulations for size and distance from the tracks so painting could be done on Wednesday, Malasky said.
Malasky, 37, and Hernandez, 40, were transported to Exeter Hospital.
