    Junior NCC Cadet Sergeant Nirmala Maheswari, a student of Immaculate Heart of Mary's Girls Higher Secondary School was presented the Chief Minister's Gold Medal for her outstanding performance.She has represented Tamil Nadu, Andaman Nicobar and Pondicherry NCC Directorate in NCC Republic Day Camp in 2001. Sergeant A Ananda Kumar, a student of Jeevanandam Govt Higher Secondary School was awarded the Education Minister's Silver Medal in view of his outstanding performance.He has represented the Tamil Nadu, Andaman Nicobar and Pondicherry NCC Directorate in the NCC Republic Day Camp in 2001. R Vidhya, a student of Immaculate Heart of Mary's Girls Higher Secondary School was presented the Education Secretary's Bronze Medal in view of her achievements.She is a keen and motivated cadet and has represented the Pondicherry NCC Group in 2001. Best health centre and field staffs were honoured on the Independence Day.The Primary Health Centre (PHC), Karayamputhur was presented the shield award for the best PHC among the 39 PHCs in Pondicherry.Dr M Chitra, medical officer in charge received the award from the chief minister. The PHC at Karayamputhur has achieved the best overall performance in terms of family planning operations for eligible couples, highest number of family with 2 or less than 3 children, very good performance of health programs like immunization of children, leprosy eradication program and tuberculosis control program. Three Auxiliary Nurse and Midwives (ANMs), Vathsala, PHC in Mettupalayam, V Selvarani, PHC in Kospalayam and K M Janaki, GH in Mahe were awarded with Certificate of Excellence and Cash Award for achieving very high percentage of Family Planning Operations among the eligible couples and cent per cent coverage for immunization of children against polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus and measles as well as pregnant women against tetanus.S B Ganesan, para medical worker in Karaikalampakkam was awarded certificate of excellent performance and cash award for his best efforts in detecting more number of cases of leprosy and curing all of them.Back to HeadlinesNational level training programme on irrigation
