    Yogesh Maheshwari

Yogesh Maheshwari joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 1990.After eight years of working on and managing major projects across the globe, he relocated to Switzerland.Yogesh is now TCS Regional Manager at Zurich. He works closely with TKS-Teknosoft SA (TKS) on the successful partnership between TKS and TCS.

After graduating in 1998 in Computer Science & Engineering from the Banaras Hindu University in India, Yogesh joined the R&D division of ORG Systems, a UNIX-based software house, before moving to TCS as a development engineer. For two years, he was module leader and analyst on a major communications project that linked computers across India over an X.25 network.

In 1992, Yogesh was selected to work on a major assignment for Hewlett-Packard at their Cupertino laboratories, porting systems software to the HP-UX platform and setting up the rigorous testing environment required by this client.Following this, Yogesh worked as a senior member of the team that built language-independent user interfaces for a Dutch client, a landmark engagement for TCS that led to a successful relationship with Tuxedo

Yogesh's first Swiss assignment was in 1995, when he lead the technical architecture team at the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS), which replaced the legacy electronic banking interface with a modern client-server system. The architecture used Oracle and Tuxedo on UNIX and was based on CORBA 2.0 standards. The engagement led to further assignments and, by the end of 1997, Yogesh was managing all the work with UBS, including client relationship aspects.

In May 1998, to leverage the TKS/TCS partnership and his knowledge of the Swiss market, TCS made Yogesh its Assistant Regional Manager, giving him managerial and sales responsibilities and the task of ensuring smooth delivery of offshore TKS/TCS-built systems. In addition to the UBS relationship, Yogesh therefore also handled the Payserv and Vontobel relationships. In 1999, he signed preferred agreements with Credit Suisse and SBB (the Swiss Railways). His other achievements were contributing to winning the GSTPA project in partnership with SWIFT and SegaIntersettle, and the accreditation as SWIFT Approved Supplier. In June 2000, Yogesh became Regional Manager for TCS in Switzerland and Austria.

Yogesh continues to manage the local TCS teams and facilitate the TKS/TCS combine to continue delivering high-quality software and services to optimum cost in the shortest possible time.He still finds time for continuing leadership and marketing skill-building programmes under international visiting professors at Lausanne University.Yogesh is active in multicultural exchanges under the auspices of the Indian Association of Zurich, and he and his family have integrated effectively with Swiss culture. In fact, in 2001, he organised an extremely successful Indian Evening in Zurich.
