GUWAHATI, June 16 - Major General (Dr) Narayan Mahanty, additional director general, Remount and Veterinary Services, accompanied by senior army officials visited the College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, Khanapara on June 14, and addressed the students, teachers, officers and employees of the college in a solemn function organised in his honour.

In his address, General Mahanty, the supremo of the Remount & veterinary Corps - the veterinary wing of the Indian Army (RVC), highlighted the various activities of RVC in the army, both at the time of war and peace.He also touched upon the achievement of RVC in research front and expressed his happiness at the high standard of teaching in veterinary colleges contributing to the professional efficiency of the officers of RVC working in different capacities.He urged upon the students to study well, be highly disciplined and inculcate leadership qualities.
