The first session, Important White Varietals: Wishing for Springtime will take place Thursday, February 3, 6:30-8:00 p.m. In the Wang Center on Stony Brook's main campus and is being run by Gary Madden, general manager of Lieb Family Cellars, a LENNDEVOURS favorite Long Island winery.
Gary will be pouring a range of distinctive flavors in wines worldwide, demonstrating Pinot Blanc as both a sparkling and a still wine; comparing stainless steel and barrel-fermented Chardonnays from hot and cool climates, and exploring the influence of climate on Sauvignon Blanc.
These sessions are $55 (if you bring a friend, they pay $45).Sign up for three or more classes and the cost drops to $40 each (I think I'll be doing that).
This is a great one to start with and I encourage anyone to check this one out.Gary is an absolutely great guy, and he's beyond passionate and supremely knowledgable about wine.
