    DECATUR- Peggy and G. William Madden of Decatur were inducted into the Centennial Class of the Millikin Medallion Society at a private dinner held in their honor on campus March 22 between performances by nationally known comedian Bill Cosby.

    Mr. Madden served as a Millikin trustee from 1979 to 1995 and as its chair from 1984 to 1986.He is retired president of A.W. Cash Valve in Decatur, where he started his career after graduating from the University of Illinois.He is also former president of the board of Decatur Memorial Hospital and is a former Decatur school board member.He is a retired member of the Illinois Arts Council and the Illinois Arts Council Foundation.He has had lifelong interests in music and musical theater and is a member of the American Federation of Musicians.

    In addition to serving as a current trustee, Mrs. Madden has also been active in several Decatur-area organizations, including serving as the chair of the YWCA board.She also serves on the Women of Excellence Steering Committee and Millikin's Kirkland Fine Arts Center Advisory Board and is a member of the Decatur Memorial Hospital Board and the School Foundation Board.She also served as president of the Junior Welfare Association.Mrs. Madden has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

    The Maddens are the parents of eight children.
