Sir Frederic Madden was an antiquary and palaeographer, and was knighted in 1833.He was assistant-keeper of manuscripts at the British Museum between 1826 and 1828, and became head of the manuscript department in 1828.This is a collection of diaries in his own handwriting, the first diary starting in the year 1819.
