MEMBERS of Peterhead Choral Society and their guests attended a special anniversary dinner at the Waterside Inn last week to mark the 25th year since the appointment of the society's musical director and conductor, Alistair Macdonald.
Alistair's appointment came soon after his arrival in Peterhead in 1979 as principal teacher of music at the town's academy.
Over the past 25 years, Alistair has produced two concerts each year with the society, traditionally one at Christmas and one in May, tackling a variety of choral works and carols.
He is also musical director of Aberdeen Choral Society.
The society's longest serving member and rehearsal pianist, Mary Kirkwood, presented Mr Macdonald with an antique conductor's baton with a silver mounted inscription on behalf of the members.
