    Dr. MacLeod's presentation entitled, "Novel, Orally Active Multi-Targeted Kinase Inhibitors of the c-Met and VEGF Receptors," will highlight MethylGene's multi-targeted kinase program for oncology. Dr. MacLeod will describe the broad-spectrum antitumour activity of our lead molecules that are potent inhibitors of a unique spectrum of kinases including the c-Met receptor, all three VEGF receptors as well as RON, Tie-2 and Flt-3 kinases. These targets are involved in tumour cell survival, tumour metastasis and angiogenesis.

    Dr. MacLeod joined us in 1996 and is currently Executive Director of Pharmacology and Cell Biology.He is a key participant in the efforts and growth of our multidisciplinary biology team and his earlier work led to the identification and IND filing of MG98.He has been a key contributor in the discovery and research of our oncology product candidates.He is author or co-author of over 20 publications and co-inventor on eight United States patents.Dr. MacLeod has been a member of two US-NIH-National Cancer Institute's Core Committees (Genetic Epidemiology and Gastro-intestinal Tumors) and has served as a scientific reviewer for Nature Genetics, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and other high-impact journals.Dr. MacLeod received his Ph.D. from McGill University where he was involved with pioneering studies into the role of DNMT enzymes in oncogenic transformation.This work uncovered the potential of DNMT-specific inhibitors in the treatment of cancer.He then joined Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he studied mechanisms of novel cancer drugs before joining us.
