When Alistair MacDonald, vice president of Test & Measurement Systems Inc., or TAMS, found out city and county officials planned to ask the state to expand the enterprise zone, he asked to include his 2-acre site at 750 S.W. 14th St.

Two office buildings at the site house three companies, including TAMS, Wolf Electronix and Smart Sensors.

MacDonald was "delighted" that his property made the cut.

"It makes no difference immediately, but it allows for growth to take place and gives us flexibility in the future," he said.
