   Ellie Luna, a junior at Thibodaux High School, has been selected to serve as the BESE representative for 2004-05.
   ...
   Luna said being selected for this post is "an honor."
   
   The state post is open to all juniors whose schools belong to the Louisiana Association of Student Councils.
   
   Students are required to complete an application package including letters of recommendation.
   
   Luna was one of six finalists chosen through the association.
   
   The final selection was made after interviews by the executive board of the state student council during its recent convention.

   Luna, the daughter of Susana and Eugene Robichaux of Thibodaux, is a member of the Thibodaux High Student Council.

   Luna, who hopes to attend the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and major in engineering, said she's looking forward to serving on the Student and School Standards/Instruction Committee.
   
   "I'm looking forward to letting them know the truth about things that students go through," she said.
