Appoints Mr. John Lui as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of New Subsidiary, UCB Asset Management, Inc.Monday April 3, 6:00 am ET
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 2006--UCBH Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:UCBH - News), the holding company of United Commercial Bank (UCB(TM)), announced the appointment of Mr. John Lui as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of a new subsidiary, UCB Asset Management, Inc.The newly established subsidiary will provide professional investment management services to high-net-worth clients.
Prior to joining our organization, Mr. Lui served as the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for small- and mid-cap growth strategies at BNY Asset Management, the institutional money management sector of The Bank of New York, where he managed more than $2 billion in assets for institutional and ultra high-net-worth investors.Previously, Mr. Lui served as Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Barclays Global Asset Management, the active strategies investment management arm of Barclays Bank, where he led its asset management efforts in Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to Barclays Global Asset Management, Mr. Lui's experience also included serving as Vice President and Group Head for The Bank of New York's International Personal Asset Management Division, where he managed $1.5 billion for ultra high-net-worth individual and institutional investors in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.He personally managed portfolios for clients based in Asia.Mr. Lui received his M.B.A. in Finance and B.A. in Economics and Finance from Pace University in New York, New York.
