When Joseph Long was elected as Vice-President of the Tennessee Association of Student Councils (TASC), no one doubted that he would make an impact in his role.
But Joseph may have exceeded even the highest expectations by conducting a fundraising campaign for the Make-a-Wish foundation.
Because of Joseph's efforts, TASC was able to fund "wishes" for three worthy children in the state of Tennessee.
In recognition of his accomplishments, Joseph received not only a national leadership award, but also the gratitude of three local families.
Altogether, Joseph served in Student Council roles for over six years, including his tenure as Vice-President of TASC.
Joseph was also an active participant in Bridge Builders, a Memphis organization that promotes diversity by bringing together youth of different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
In 2004, he won that organization's speech contest.
In 2005, Joseph was chosen as a Student Ambassador for the "Memphis in May" exchange program in Dublin, Ireland.
