Reidsville- Alice Y. Loftis, 89, of 1106 Cypress Drive, died on Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at First Baptist Church.Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Mrs. Loftis was born in Granville County to the late Lee Jackson Yancey and Elizabeth Garrett Yancey.She was a graduate of East Carolina Teacher's College and retired from the Reidsville City Schools as an 8th grade teacher and an attendance counselor and was also employed with the Reidsville Police Department.Alice was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class.She was preceded in death by her husband, Maury F. Loftis in 1995; brothers, Marshall and Melvin Yancey.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn L. Ascher of Pittsboro, NC, Nancy L. Crabtree and husband, Reggie, Patsy L. Dill and husband, Kenneth, all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Jason Busick of Charlotte, Justin and Julie Dill, both of Reidsville; brother, Francis Yancey and wife, Barbara of Winston-Salem.
