NSU students Eric Martens and Deanna Pederson recently approached the MENC faculty adviser, John Lockwood, and reported that all three music organizations would like to use their talents to raise both money and awareness for the victims of hurricane Katrina by presenting a benefit concert.

"Because of the students' efforts and commitment, the Victims of Hurricane Katrina Benefit Recital will be a reality," said Lockwood.

"I cannot begin to say enough about these Northern students," added Lockwood."I am proud to be associated with the students of Sigma Alpha Iota and Phi Mu Alpha chapters, and very honored to be faculty advisor for MENC.Our students are the best!"
