Jorge Llorente, M.D., F.A.C.S. has extensive experience in the field of advanced laparoscopic surgery and has published numerous clinical articles related to general and advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures.He has presented clinical outcomes domestically and internationally, including an address to the Third World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery in Bordeaux, France.

Dr. Llorente received his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in 1964.He completed his internship at Mount Vernon Hospital in New York, and his residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital and Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in New York in 1970.He served as an Assistant Instructor of Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Llorente began his practice in San Diego in 1974.He served as Chief of Surgery at Sharp Memorial Hospital from 1983-85 and 1990-93, as Medical Director of the San Diego Ambulatory Surgery Center from 1986-93 and as the Medical Director for the Post-Surgery Recovery Center of San Diego from 1990-93.He is a fellow of The American College of Surgeons, as well as a member in SAGES, ASBS, and the Federation of Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
