At the Hickman County Workforce Employer Outreach Committee today, Roger Littlejohn with Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development explained how employers could take advantage of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit on their federal income tax liability.

Roger Littlejohn, Tennessee Department of Labor coordinator of tax credits for 110,000 employers in the state, said Tennessee ranked third in the nation in tax credits, totaling $100 million, in 2004."Tax credits to Tennessee employers are projected to be between $125 and $135 million in 2005," he said.Tennessee employers hire workers who either have the necessary job skills or are trainable, he added.
