  Vida Lin: a 13 year Professional with expertise in Life & Health Insurance as well as Property & Casualty. She is a previous employee of Liberty Mutual and is the founder of V&J Insurance agency where she developed a $4.5 million book of business in a 5 year period of time. Vida currently is a Vice President on the Asian Chamber of Commerce Board and the Organization of Chinese Americans Board. She is a Board of Director for the MGM Diversity Advisory Committee and the Clark County Advisory Board for Business Development. She has been actively involved with the Japanese American Citizen League, UNLV APA Youth Summit, UNLV, Gift Foundation and Nevada System of Higher Education. On August 2007, Vida received the "Unsung Hero Volunteer" Award at the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) National Convention. On March 4, 2008, she was honored as being a leader and a mentor, working tirelessly to support the community by Lawrence Weekly, Clark County Commissioner. This award is given each year to recognize one person for their dedication and outstanding achievement in the Clark County, Nevada Community. Vida has been a guest speaker on ALPFA Leadership: Women & Financial Empowerment Panel.

  A manager of the DFS Galleria could not be reached for comment , but Vida Lin , vice president of the Asian Chamber of Commerce , said retailers catering to Asian visitors are taking the biggest hit from the tourism downturn.
  
  The most visible indicator of hard times in Asia was last week's decision by Japan Airlines to suspend nonstop flights between Tokyo and Las Vegas through the end of January.
  
  International and charter travel was down 40 percent at McCarran International Airport and JAL traffic between Tokyo and Las Vegas was off 34 percent from September 2000 to last month.
  
  Local hotel-casinos have seen high-end play from Asian gamblers fall and companies that customarily market to Asian guests have sought to replace them with domestic visitors coaxed to travel with discounted room rates.

  Business is off for the Japanese Travel Bureau International and there probably are other companies that are hoping things turn around by January , she said.But I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more had to close in January if things haven't changed..
