The next Worship Alive! workshop will be a fascinating one entitled "Worship & Music from Asia" with Swee Hong Lim on Sunday afternoon, May 23rd.
For most of us, church music from Asia has an aura of mystery and seems too difficult to be introduced to our churches for any occasion. In this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn how to rehearse and use Asian church music within the worship setting of your local church. We will also explore other values and practices of Christian worship in Asian cultures that can enrich the worship lives of all our churches.
Swee Hong Lim is presently pursuing his Ph.D. in Liturgical Studies at Drew University. He is also a local pastor in the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.A native of Singapore, he received his Bachelor of Church Music from the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music in The Philippines and his Master of Sacred Music from Perkins School of Theology in Dallas. His compositions can be found in several publications including The Faith We Sing and the Global Praise collection from The United Methodist Church.
