Lim of Melbourne is a graduate from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Physics.He submitted his PhD to the same institution in November 2003 on material science and characterization.He will pursue research studies at the E.O. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the Plasma Application Group.Mr. Lim wishes to understand the relationship between plasma dynamics and properties of films.This will facilitate control and organization of coating processes.His research at the Berkeley Lab will give him access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to investigate the nanostructures of films within metals.These facilities are not currently available in Australia.He will also be collaborating with world-class researchers.Dr. Lim's research will have benefits for the healthcare and the developing bio-device industries in Australia.Upon returning to Australia, he intends to continue his research as a materials scientist with collaborative links to the United States.Mr. Lim is a member of his Neighborhood Watch Association and plays tennis competitively.
