    Instructor Profile: Bumsuk Lim
    ...
Ask any person that walks down the hallways of Art Center who Bumsuk Lim is and most likely they'll give you their best impression or share a classic Bumsuk moment. Everyone has their story and thankfully The JL Crew has their own. Bumsuk teaches Foundation studies and a newly formed motorcycle course at ACCD, you'll always see him around campus walking with crazy swagger guaranteed to be laced fresh with a new wardrobe. If you're lucky enough to be on his good side he'll sure enough chat it up with you and share his experiences in the industry, school, design, and women which was always the clincher when i would talk to him. Talking to him gives you a glimpse in who he really is outside of a formal class setting and you get to experience first hand how genuine he is and well versed his talents are. the common misconception that a lower termer might have of Bumsuk is that he might come off as a bit "stand offish" and a bit "abrasive", and like most instructors this is a way for them to get you to work just a bit harder. It was a long road for each League member, each of us have had a real bad experience as well as real good ones. I'm sure that no one would trade either one of those because each of those is like a finely tailored suit just for you. The "Chicken Soup" analogy, "Saggy Ass" forms, and straight forward that sucks! one more round! expressions. Bottom line, ACCD wouldn't be the same if he wasn't there busting your ass.

Bumsuk Lim graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1990, and has contributed as a consultant, designer, columnist and researcher for places like General Motors, Honda Advanced R&D and GQ magazine. Bumsuk still teaches at ACCD so make sure to be nice to him. For more info about the man, myth, and legend check out Bumsuk's Website: www.blimdesign.com

Bumsuk Moment: Either in 4th term or 3rd term a bunch of us were talking to Bumsuk just shooting the shit and the conversation started to get mad racial which always seem to happen when you talk to him and for 3 straight terms Bumsuk let me know that the whole time he thought i was Mexican, and he asked Nahum why i didn't talk spanish. Nahum told Bumsuk i was Filipino and he started laughing, after that he said "Well Filipino's are like the Mexican's of Asia anyway". Knowing Bumsuk this is to be taken all in stride and with a huge grain of salt, i just laughed because i didn't know what else to do. I wasn't sure if i should be offended or feel good about what just happened, but i'm sure he meant it in a good way.
