Thomas F. Liffick, MD is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine And Medical Director Emeritus of the Southwestern Indiana Mental Health Center, Inc. in Evansville, Indiana.
Dr. Liffick received his BA in Biology from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, in 1973, and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1977.
He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Indiana University Hospitals in 1980, in Indianapolis, where he was Chief Resident and recipient of The George Sheldon Rader Award for the outstanding graduating resident in psychiatry.
Dr. Liffick practices psychiatry at a large, comprehensive mental health facility in Evansville, Indiana, which services approximately 8000 patients per year.
The Community Support Services Program there has been recognized for its excellence in providing psychosocial rehabilitation for patients with sever and persistent mental illness.
He has served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Welborn Baptist Hospital and St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana, and is a past president of the medical staff at Welborn Baptist Hospital.
Dr. Liffick is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, which awarded him the Nancy C.A. Roeske, MD, Award for Excellence in Psychiatric Teaching.
In 2001, he received the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
He is also listed in the publication Best Doctors in America.
Dr. Liffick has lectured extensively in the United States, Canada, and Europe on the topics of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and psychotropic medications.
