    Thomas F. Liffick, M.D., is medical director of Southwestern Indiana Mental Health Center and is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine. He received his BA in biology from Wabash College in 1973 and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1977. He completed his psychiatry residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1980, where he was chief resident and recipient of The George Sheldon Rader Award for the outstanding graduating resident in psychiatry.

    Dr. Liffick directs a large, comprehensive mental health facility in Evansville, Indiana which services approximately 8,000 patients a year. The Community Support Services Program there has been recognized for its excellence in providing psychosocial rehabilitation for patients with severe and persistent mental illness. He has served as the chairman of the psychiatry department at Welborn Baptist Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville Indiana, and is a past president of the medical staff at Welborn Baptist Hospital.

    Dr. Liffick is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association which awarded him the Nancy C. A. Roeske Certificate of Excellence for his teaching. In 2001, he received the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). He is also listed in the publication "Best Doctors in America."
