    Phil Liff-Grieff has been the BJE's Associate Director since October of 2001.He actually began his career in Jewish communal work in 1975 at the BJE as Director of the Havurat Noar program.Since that time, he directed the agency's High School Programs, directed the Youth Department of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, directed the LA Federation's Eastern Region and was the founding director of the Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys.In the early years of his career, Phil also taught in a variety of formal and informal Jewish educational settings.He is currently an adjunct summer faculty member of the Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles.

    Phil received his BA in Jewish Studies from UCLA and his Masters in Jewish Education from the University of Judaism.

    In his position as Associate Director, Phil oversees the agency's direct service programs (youth and émigré departments) and is responsible for areas of agency management that relate to organizational advancement: planning, resource development, marketing and administrative infrastructure.
