Joanna brings her rigid academic training in computer-based natural language processing, modern information retrieval, and knowledge management to her position as Chief Engineer at Lumeria.
In 1994, she received her Masters degree in English Linguistics from Peking University.
In 1999, she obtained her Masters degree in Information Management and Systems from UC Berkeley's School of Information Management and Systems.
While in school, she developed MetaKM -- a meta-search engine for the knowledge management domain, and she was the key player in the Berkeley Ad Blocker project.
Joanna joined Lumeria in July of 1999 and has been instrumental in the architecture and development of Lumeria's technology platform.
She has also made unique contributions to the efficient storage, interchange, processing and generation of XML documents.
She was the lead engineer of the DTDFactory project, responsible for the development of its whole back-end as well as parts of its Web-based GUI, and she has also been centrally involved in the Lumeria Ad Network project.
