Trend Micro's chief security officer Jeremy Liang said the findings also show that most computer users are prone to click on any uniform resource locator (URL) in their e-mails, depending on the interest, culture and geographical area.
    ...
Liang said faced with the threats, companies thus need to educate their employees on security issues and common network threats.

He added that a proper training programme, along with people/ corporate policy enforcement should be put in place to align with the companies' business processes.

Liang said companies need to also do a TAAS on a quarterly or monthly basis, to reassess their security posture.

"From here, they can spend some time finding what the treats are and how much money should be spent in rectifying the vulnerabilities."

Liang added that by doing a TAAS, the companies will be able to identify staff who make the same mistakes despite undergoing virus handling training sessions. This will allow the employer to place these staff in a less critical department, if necessary.

Liang advises companies not to protect all their network in the same way."In handling security issues, you need to be creative as threats can come in different ways," he said.
