Maria Lewis

Maria Lewis was born in Madrid, Spain.She now resides in Glen Cove, L.I, New York.A teacher in several schools on the North Shore.Currently a member of the Long Island Arts Council, the African American Museum and the American Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C.Her work reflects a continuous exploration into new media, style and subjects, with examples in a wide range of places from Great Britain, Argentina, Russia and Switzerland to California.Some commissions include murals in private as well as public locations.She was chairman of the Art Colony at the America's Sail '98 at Glen Cove and she is currently a Board Director of the North Shore Historical Museum.For info call 516-676-7391 or e-mail her at lewisarte@aol.com.
